This course will walk you through the basics of the Red Dot platform. We will explore Red Dot products, maintenance, different Red Dot applications, and how to select the right Red Dot for you.
Pistol & Self-Defense Fundamentals Series
The fundamentals of shooting will be introduced, reviewed, and built upon, while also exploring universal safety rules, situational awareness, common types of firearms, ammunition types, marksmanship skills, advanced firearms handling, defensive pistol fundamentals and the use of deadly force.

I'm new to firearms. What class should I take first?
If you’re new to firearms, we recommend starting with a beginner firearm training class or scheduling private instruction with one of our certified instructors.
These training options introduce the fundamentals of safe firearm handling, responsible ownership, firearm range etiquette, and confidence-building skills in a supportive learning environment. Once you’ve completed your introductory training, we’ll help you determine the next step based on your interests and experience.
What can I expect during my first firearm training class?
Your first firearm training class is designed to help you feel comfortable while learning the fundamentals of responsible firearm ownership. Depending on the course, training may include classroom instruction, firearm safety principles, hands-on demonstrations, and live-fire exercises on the firearm range under the supervision of certified instructors. Questions are encouraged, and our instructors work at a pace that helps participants build confidence while developing safe, consistent habits.

Which firearm training classes does Mission94 offer?

Do you offer concealed carry training?
Yes. Mission94 currently offers Wisconsin Concealed Carry certification classes that meet Wisconsin’s training requirements, as well as Illinois Concealed Carry and Concealed Carry Renewal Classes that meet Illinois State Police training requirements.
Please note that completing a concealed carry course satisfies the applicable training requirement but does not guarantee the issuance of a concealed carry license, as licensing requirements are established by each state.
How much do firearm training classes cost?
The cost of firearm training classes varies depending on the course, length of instruction, and training format. Mission94 offers introductory classes, private instruction, concealed carry education, advanced training, and specialty courses with pricing listed on each class page.

Does Mission94 offer private firearm training?
Yes, Mission94 offers one-on-one firearm training for individuals who prefer individual instruction or want personalized coaching.
Private instruction is ideal for beginners, participants returning to firearms after time away, or experienced firearm owners looking to strengthen specific skills at their own pace.
Do I need to be a member to take a firearm training class?
No, most firearm training classes at Mission94 are open to both members and non-members.
Whether you’re visiting for your first class or continuing your firearm education, you can register for most training opportunities without purchasing a membership. Any member-only classes or special member events will be clearly identified during registration.
Do I need a FOID card to participate in firearm training?
No. A Firearm Owner’s Identification (FOID) card is not required to participate in firearm training classes at Mission94. Illinois residents only need a valid government-issued photo ID to attend training, and out-of-state participants may generally register using a valid government-issued photo ID from their home state. If a course has additional participation requirements, they will be noted in the class description.
Will I have an instructor with me on the range?
Yes, certified instructors are present during all live-fire firearm training conducted on the firearm range. Our instructors provide guidance, reinforce safe firearm handling practices, answer questions, and offer individual coaching throughout the class to help every participant learn in a safe, supportive environment.
Are all firearm training classes conducted on the range?
Not all classes include live-fire instruction. Many Mission94 training programs combine classroom education with live-fire exercises on the firearm range, while others focus on topics such as firearm safety, concealed carry, legal considerations, historical education, or self-defense concepts. Each class description explains whether live-fire instruction is included.
What safety equipment do I need?
All guests participating in classes with a live fire component should have eye and hearing protection. We recommend wearing comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes suitable for the firearm range. Low-cut tops are not permitted. If additional equipment is required for a specific course, those details will be included in the class description before your scheduled training.
Eye and hearing protection are only provided for First Shots and private training classes. You may rent or purchase eye and hearing protection from our Range Control Desk.
I'm visiting from another state. Can I participate in firearm training?
Yes, Mission94 welcomes participants from Illinois, Wisconsin, and across the United States.
Many firearm training classes are available to out-of-state guests. Some courses, particularly those involving state-specific certifications, may have additional eligibility requirements. Please review the course description or contact Mission94 if you have questions before registering.
Do I need to own a firearm before taking a class?
No, many participants choose to take firearm training before purchasing a firearm. Mission94 offers training designed to help new firearm owners better understand safe firearm handling, different firearm platforms, responsible ownership, and how to make informed decisions before purchasing.
